Read your iPhone charge by the battery icon's color alone
BatteryHue is an iOS profile maker that gives each charge level its own color, and it never needs a jailbreak.

- Low
- Half
- Full
- One gray at every level
Words you meet along the way
- Battery icon
- The little battery glyph at the top right of your iPhone screen. BatteryHue changes the color of its fill; the icon keeps its usual spot and shape.
- Charge level
- How full the battery is. You give low, half and full a color each, so a look at the icon tells you where you stand before you read the number.
- Color style
- The look you pick on the next screen: plain colors, a gradient, or an animated effect on top.
- Configuration profile
- A small settings file iOS knows how to install. BatteryHue generates one with your color style inside, and your iPhone asks you before it applies anything.
- Effect
- Movement added to the colors, such as an animation or a shifting gradient. It is optional: a still color works just as well.
- Jailbreak
- Changing iOS so it runs software Apple does not allow. BatteryHue does without it: the profile route works on a normal iPhone.
- Profile Downloaded
- The line that appears near the top of Settings once the profile is on your phone. Tap it, then Install, to apply your colors.
- Settings, VPN and Device Management
- Where installed profiles live, under Settings, then General. Remove the BatteryHue profile there any time you want the stock icon back.
Once you hit the button
- You see the color styles and pick plain colors, a gradient or an effect.
- You watch BatteryHue build your profile with that style inside.
- You see iOS ask to install it, and once you confirm in Settings, the battery icon shows your colors.
Open the next step on the iPhone you want to color: the profile installs on the device that downloads it.
Pick the color your battery shows at every level.
